Position: IT Support Assistant
Education: Bachelor of Science degree (BSC) in ICT, IT, IS, Computer Science, or related fields of study.
Experience: No prior relevant experience required; a strong enthusiasm for collaborating with human capital management.
Required Competencies
- Proficient communication skills, adept at liaising with staff and suppliers, offering support to personnel, and clarifying ICT terminology.
Main Activities:
- Provide guidance on the use of personal computer hardware, software, and specialized mainframe technology. Operate a multi-platform computer environment, monitor service scheduling, execution, and successful completion.
- Lead the installation of software systems within the company and facilitate communication with software developers.
- Configure and set up desktop computers, peripherals, and accounts with designated security levels. Install software and conduct hardware and peripheral repairs.
- Conduct program testing; troubleshoot and diagnose issues; implement corrective actions within established guidelines, escalating to higher technical resources as needed.
- Maintain systems, databases, and web pages; manage user accounts; generate basic reports.
- Initiate and manage production jobs; edit and debug computer output; facilitate file transfers between platforms.
- Offer fundamental troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair for computer equipment, including microcomputers, disk drives, and laser printers. Assist in testing personal computers and network peripherals to discern hardware versus software issues.
- Support troubleshooting efforts for video conferencing and audio-conferencing room systems, projectors, digital screens, and related equipment.
- Deliver frontline service desk technical support to staff, addressing hardware and software challenges through phone, email, or on-site assistance.
