The Embassy of Ireland in Addis Ababa is inviting qualified applicants to apply for the position of Finance Manager. Ireland has maintained bilateral relations with Ethiopia since 1994 and is committed to promoting a more secure, just, fair, and sustainable world through Irish Aid, its international development program.

Position: Finance Manager

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

Essential Requirements:

  • BA in Accounting or related fields from a recognized university.
  • A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA or CIMA). Applicants in the process of completing an ACCA or CIMA qualification with strong relevant experience may also be considered but must commit to completing the qualification within 2 years of employment.
  • Experience in using financial management accounting packages.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management and control, with at least 3 years at a senior level.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite applications, particularly advanced financial skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including working with large data sets.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, think laterally, and handle various financial issues.
  • Ability to manage staff and deliver results independently and as part of a multicultural team.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
  • High motivation, ability to work with minimal supervision, and a high standard of personal integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic, both spoken and written.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Strong background and knowledge of government regulations, public sector accounting, and financial procedures.
  • Familiarity with regulations surrounding international funding.

Contract Duration: A fixed-term contract for three years with a probation period of 60 working days.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with standard office hours from 8 am-5 pm, not exceeding 48 hours per week as per local labor law.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 20 working days per annum.

Gross Salary: Entry point of Grade ONE (€29,160.24 per annum) paid in local currency.
